After the long announcement for our Pre-sale event, it finally happened!

By invitation only, on June 18th at exactly midnight Bare® went live. Hundreds if not thousands of fans and registrants of Bittylab flocked to our site to pre-order Bare® bottles. Suddenly the Facebook page and twitter became our center of attention when customers couldn’t pre-order. Comments were coming by the dozens in seconds. Emails poured in faster than we could scan the subject. Phones were ringing off the hook. Our site had crashed and no one could enter a pre-order #Strike 1! Quickly we resolved the issue with the IT support of our web host. Now it’s 20 minutes after 12am and pre-orders were still coming. Once the multitude of comments, email and calls were answered, at around 3am we took a little rest.

Bare ready for Production!

We have been working non-stop since January to bring you our first full scale production of Bare products. As some of you may have been following, we started our consumer testing in January, which helped us to further refine a couple of the Bare parts. By mid February we received the new parts and re-tested those parts with great success. We are happy and thrilled to report that this was our last revision to the Bare parts and we can finally move into production.

We are ecstatic to report that our Bare® Trial has concluded and the results far exceeded our expectations!!

A Bare™ Holiday!!

The Holidays are upon us and with that, the count down to pre-order your BARE bottle is just around the corner. Yes, you heard that right! After almost 3 years of research and development, a breastfeeding mom has finally made “THE” bottle for your breastfed baby. In a few days, we will announce the exact dates for pre-ordering and delivery. Our loyal fans/registrants will have access before anyone else. The life of a mompreneur

I’m a busy mom first and a busy mompreneur second. My children just turned 4 and 5. It’s amazing to think that my first child was just a newborn when I started tinkering with Bare™. When my son was 2 I decided I was going to take two years off work to get Bare™ up and running and now….. 3 years later, we’re finally close to launching. Keeping my fingers crossed!

Life After Hurricane Sandy

When we heard about hurricane Irene, earlier in the year, we decided to evacuate. While our zone is not a flood zone and our evacuation was not mandatory, our guts told us we needed to get to higher ground. As we all know hurricane Irene was not a major issue in the NYC area and since then we let our guard down a little.

Some would say perfection is a ridiculous goal but we at Bittylab believe that perfection should be the standard practice, not a lofty goal. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

We, at Bittylab, want to take a moment to remember all the victims, past and present, of breast cancer. Personally I know several people who are currently struggling with this illness. Research has shown that one way to reduce the incidents of breast cancer is through breast cancer education. Hi again, I’m extremely excited to tell you what’s happening this month. Are you sitting down? Here it is:

By invitation only and exclusively to BARE™ subscribers/fans, Bittylab scheduled the BARE™ trials 2012. Only 200 lucky moms will get to try BARE™ for the first time with their babies. Invitations were sent at the beginning of the month and I can’t tell you how thrilled we are with the number of responses we received.

Over the past few days, my husband and I have watched the web fill with commentary and media articles in response to Bittylab’s Twitter campaign from last week. There have been a lot of negative comments as well as confusion over our intention with the campaign, and I wanted to take this opportunity to explain.

First and foremost, we at Bittylab want to apologize to everyone that this campaign inadvertently offended.

Initiating the breastfeeding relationship

The first hours of life are critical to establishing a successful breastfeeding relationship between you and your baby. Find out if your hospital (if delivering in a hospital) supports breastfeeding. Hospitals that do, will not offer your baby any formula. I gave birth at NYU Medical Center, which does offer the formula option. As such, when we checked in the nursers consulted with me to see if I wanted to breastfeed or formula-feed. I made it clear to them that I wanted to breastfeed exclusively. I went so far as to create a sign, printing 2 copies and placing them inside and out of the hospital bassinet.

Natural Child World is a printed magazine published once every two months and focused on providing modern parents with a platform to learn, exchange and reflect over alternative choices and alternative ways to raise our children. It’s also a place where creativity meets sustainability. NCW hosts the annual Eco Excellence Awards, with 7 different categories. They select the best eco friendly/ innovative/ beautifully designed products. This year BARE™ air-free baby bottles were selected as the Best baby bottle within the food category.

Parenting Adventures - Guest blog

My journey into motherhood began with a lot of surprises, which really prepared me for what was ahead in raising children! My husband and I worked with both a midwife and a doula to have a natural birth but ended up with a c-section with our first pregnancy. Our second pregnancy was a difficult VBAC. Since I didn't get the birth experience I desired, I was determined to make breastfeeding work for my children. I am happy to be visiting today as a guest blogger, to share my experiences on what worked and what didn't work for us when it came to breastfeeding.

We are happy to report that we are making significant strides towards a successful BARE launch later this year. Between now and then we will be hosting many events, so stay tuned.

One such event is this coming weekend – the BARE photo session with 5 lucky winners from our BARE photo contest. You may have notice that we ran a photo contest in search of 5 babies to be our BARE babies. We received 100s of submissions, but unfortunately, we had to limit our choice to 5 babies, with a mix of boys and girls of various ages. Our selection of babies was based on gender and the age of the child. We thank all of the parents who participated and will keep you in our database for other photo shoots.
